The vehicle may have an up-shift

The vehicle may have an up-shift light. It indicates when to shift to the next higher gear for best fuel economy.

For the CTS-V, the tracer lights function as a performance up-shift light.

The tracers flash to indicate when to shift to the next higher gear to avoid the engine speed limit.
